SYNOPSIS

A number –such is its original title—is a disturbing work that revolves around the issue of cloning. An analysis of the argumentative nightmares that could develop if human cloning moved from the realm of scientific possibility to the realm of scientific fact. Even as a twist to this framework, the author gets into a debate: nature versus education.

Copias is about Salter's three children. Bernard One, thirty years old, the original. He is aggressive, violent and has nightmares. Bernard Two, who is twenty-five, does not exhibit aggression but worries about being "just a copy". Michael Blacks, also twenty-five years old, is from the same "litter" as Bernard Two but was raised by different parents. The three were treated differently, and had different feelings and questions. The dialogue between Salter (Villanueva Cosse) and the three children (Mariano Torre), clones of himself, is the theme of this work, which premiered in 2002 in London, played by Michael Gambon and Daniel Craig, directed by Stephen Daldry.
