SYNOPSIS

John Coetzee, Nobel Prize for Literature, and the multi-award-winning writer Paul Auster, tell in first person the epistolary exchange they held for 3 years, which allowed them to cultivate a deep relationship they never imagined, simply because of the resource of correspondence.

The documentary gathers these writing moments to narrate the relationship between these two great contemporary literature writers, relating what they feel as time goes by. The project was born after the presentation of the book "Here & Now" by both authors at the Book Fair in Buenos Aires in 2014. This inspires Teresa and Soledad to travel to southern France and Brooklyn, New York, to conduct these interviews with each of them separately.

It shows John Coetzee immersed in his daily life in his French village, his (current) resting residence, from where part of his routine was to sit down to write Paul on his machine. While Paul's themes are accompanied by the landscapes that recall the passages of his life and work.

They speak in a relaxed and entertaining way about issues such as the future of the world, economy and politics, Apartheid, writing and creative processes, mother tongue, travel, art, sports shows, health, marriage, Chess, and of course friendship. It invites us to learn more about the thoughts of two personalities of this era.
